Title: Low Voltage shutdown
Post by: P-nut on March 05, 2019, 04:17:36 PM
At what voltage will the unit automatically shut down? Had a issue with both of my units shutting down while out on the lake after a half a day. Thanks.. new member on here and looking forward to increasing my knowledge with this unit.

Shutdown voltage is around 10.5  ...

If the Sonar unit is on the cranking battery - starting the big motor will sometimes "steal" enough voltage to cause lack of voltage to the Sonar unit  ...

Thanks, I had it on my trolling battery. I have nothing on my cranking battery and I am looking at swapping it over to it. Right now I have trolling motor, bilge pumps, livewell, lights, and my 2 units on 1 battery. Didn't realize this till later. After a 1/2 a day of fishing my units shut down. Also done a test and noticed that at full charge and trolling motor at highest speed and bilge and livewell on voltage was dropping 12.2 to 11.6.. this was full charged. I am changing my units over to cranking battery. Is that a good idea? Thanks and God Bless!

It is recommended to have electronics on the starting battery or a separate battery just for electronics  ...

This recommendation is more attributed to possible RFI interference that can be caused by electronics connected to trolling motor battery(s)  ...
