HB Issues
« on: May 18, 2010, 02:25:16 PM »
Tomorrow I head to the lake to try out my new HB equipment..... 788CI on the bow and 898c si on the console.  I've studied the manuals and read recommendations from the different forums.  I am excited and hopefully will post my first images soon.  However, I understand that I face two known issues with my new HB equipment.  Poor shallow water performance from the 788 ( I found where others have installed older versions of the software on the 700 series and the problem goes away) and known interlink problems between the units.  I found a lengthy thread on the interlink problem on the BBC board.  Hopefully I will not have these problems.  If I do I will report back and hopefully someone from HB will give us an update on the status of any fixes.

I received a call from  Tech Support at HB.  I was totally surprised.  The representative indicated that they were just about ready to release a software update to fix the shallow water problem.  Boy what service... Just wanted to let everyone know.

We all are anxious for the shallow water problem fix from HB...

In the meantime you can open up your split screen view and watch the bottom on the DI or the 2d...it should stay steady...

And as long as you have your depth lines showing on the DI and 2d screen you should be able to see your correct depth ...
