Title: Transducer Compatibility
Post by: ifishnc on January 18, 2020, 09:36:49 AM
I recently bought a Helix 7 SI G3. I had a Helix 5 SI on the console and moved it up to the front of the boat and put the new Helix 7 on the console. I had updated the transducer for the Helix 5 to improve SI. My question is, will the updated transducer for the Helix 5 work on the Helix 7?  If it does. I won't have to rewire the new 7.  Sorry I dont have the trasducer model # but I can get it if someone can help me.
Thanks

What is the model number of the upgraded xducer you used on the 5  ... ?? (It should have a tag close to the connector end)  ...

Then look in the Connected Transducer selection Menu under the Sonar tab in the HELIX 7 to see if that xducer is listed  ...

Rickie, Thanks for the quick reply. The Helix 5 update model was XHS9HDSI180T. I couldn't find the 7 model where you said. It just gives me the choices to use.  No tag on ducer.  The best I can do now is to say it (Helix 7) is the standard ducer that came with model 410950-1 'bird.  I would have moved the XHS to the bow with the 5 but it is too big for my trolling motor so I used the original. If you need more info let me know and I will dig deeper.  Thanks again.

Look in the Helix 7 Connected Transducer selection Menu for “Hi Def Side Imaging”  ...

This selection will transmit 83kHz/200kHz for 2d and 455kHz for SI/DI  ... which is the frequency capabilities of the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T  ...

One thing to note is that the stock xducer (XM 9 HW MSI 150 T) that came with your HELIX 7 MEGA G3 has better 2d capability (and MEGA 1200kHz SI capability) than the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T  ...

Based on that I decided to use the xducer that came with the 7.  Besides, I was having a lot of trouble with the other one reading at speed. Hopefully this one is better.  It is smaller. I did finally find the model # for the 7 in the manual - but who reads directions? Thanks so much for your input.
