i have a 587ci HD di and it says the gps and speed are unconected

Check all connections and power supply voltage.. 

Is this a new or used unit..

Has it worked before....

i know its not the conections but could be the power supply/conection to power supply

it is fairly new 2/3 months old and it has worked until today

OK check the power supply.  good fresh charged battery or known good converter... Make sure the amperage is good if a converter...

This is a marriage unit. Power is not to blame. Try to change the firmware. If not help back to the factory.

Are you using this unit outside?
If the power connections check good you will need to call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and see about getting your 587ci HD DI unit in to be serviced. 1-800-633-1468

Likely faulty internal GPS receiver. At home, it is not repaired. Already experienced this only in the other device.
