Topic: Trackpoint Interval, Track Minimum Distance, Track Color Range - What gives?

Folks.
I have been setting all of these to the maximum distances, because I thought it may
make the system work faster if it has less to keep track of.

I saw a post that said if you set the track minimum distance to less than the default (16 feet),
that the gps arrow would update faster.

What are you thoughts?
And what the heck is the Track Color Range for?

The Track Min Distance and Trackpoint Interval menus only affect how often the unit will drop a trackpoint which you will not see If you have the Current Track set to display as a solid line.  It will influence how long of a track that you can save (there are a maximum number of trackpoints allowed per Track).

The Track Color Range is used when you have a Track being displayed using the “Color By Depth” style setting.  This feature is hard to see changes in unless you have a lot of water depth changes at least for us on this lake.

So Greg,
Do the Track Min Distance and Trackpoint Intervals have anything to do with how
fast the gps directional arrow starts to move or the speed in which it moves?
I would think that the smallest settings possible for these two parameters would be the best to use
if the gps arrow is tied to them in any way.
Thoughts?

No I do not think that they do ITGEEK.

I think the arrow has to do with the received GPS cordinates and which in turn indicate motion...Which when sitting still cause the wandering of the arrow because of the small variance of the signal.......Chuck
