Title: Helix 8 & 7 transducer compatible?
Post by: crankin007 on November 11, 2019, 01:14:12 AM
I want to add another Helix to my boat….a Helix 7 at the seat. My Helix 8 is at the bow but connected to my transducer at the back because that transducer is too big to mount on my trolling motor. I was thinking I would link the two units together but wondered if the Helix 7 would work with the XM 9 HW MSI T transducer at the transom? Also since the Helix 8 is at the bow I would switch though the network to the XNT 9 HW MSI 150 T that would come with the Helix 7. Any thoughts appreciated.

Sonar data can be shared between HELIX 8 and HELIX 7 G2N/G3N  ...

The only caveat is that HELIX 7 models do not have a DI piezo for dedicated DI imaging (DI "views" are created by blended the SI data)  ...

So when viewing the XNT 9 HW SI 150 T on the HELIX 8 thru ethernet - the DI views in the HELIX 8 will be blended DI (just like the DI views in the HELIX 7 SI)  ...
