898 Marking Question

Was out on the lake today and had the unit in Sonar/Chart split view, with Chart being active screen.  Got a memory card and map card in each slot.  When I pressed the Mark button, it said the waypoint was saved, but no icon appeared on the chart.  How do I get the icon to add to the map?

Tundah,
Check a few things for me which you can do with the boat on the trailor (but it does need to be outside to pick up the satellite signals):
See if you can make a Screen Snapshot and then view the same Screen Snapshot on your unit.
Afterwards, check and see that same Screen Snapshot is on the memory card or not.
Check and see what software version you are running in your 898ci HD Si unit.

Hey Greg,
Well before I did your test, I did a format to the nav directories.  I am running the most current update.  I turned it on, got a GPS fix and did a screen capture in the sonar/chart view and a side imaging view.  Both captures were successful and waypoints were created (blue dots).  I confirmed they were on the SD card as well.  Hopefully this was just a glitch with the existing data on the card.  Will try it out on the water this weekend.  Looks like I'm going to have to start managing my nav data regularly on the PC and keep backups.

Strange… did you update the software recently?
Maybe a corrupted waypoint in there?
Keep an watch on it and let us know if it happens again.
