Title: 898c si connected to my 958c di
Post by: rwkyle on December 17, 2011, 01:39:51 PM: Having trouble getting my front machine (958c di) to see gps and waypoints from my machine at the console (898c si). Is there a setting or something that i need to turn on or off? Thanks in advance!
They are hooked together with Ethernet cable. The back machine works fine.

958c DI – 5.880
898c Si – 5.700

Post by: rwkyle on December 19, 2011, 02:01:46 PM: The 958c di is new with the latest software. The 898c si doesnt have the 5.7, it has the version just before it. You are telling me that i have got to update my 898c si right.

Post by: Humminbird_Greg on December 19, 2011, 02:42:00 PM: I would just in case there were changes made that could affect the Ethernet. None were in the documentation I saw for this update… but it is best to update just to be sure.

Post by: rwkyle on December 23, 2011, 08:25:03 PM: Greg, uploaded new version software to 5.7 to my 898c si still nothing on front unit, however i went back through settings and found front unit not to be setup right. I had to check the box beside the gps at console selection under the network tab. Sorry!

Post by: Humminbird_Greg on December 27, 2011, 12:23:24 PM: No problems. I thought that it would automatically select the other unit’s GPS Receiver since it did not have one connected to it. So we both learned something!
