AS-GRHA ANTENNA
« on: April 03, 2010, 10:41:50 AM »
Has any member got a spare AS-GRHA antenna they would part with at a fair price. When I
bought my 997 from Humminbird last year I assumed it came complete with the most accurate
antenna available at the price I paid. But I was wrong. When I joined this forum got to reading and studding SI I seen where HB sold a more accurate antenna than they shipped with the unit
but they were discontinuing them. Guess what the Bear was a day late and a dollar short the story of my life.Sorry to say but HB UPPER Management decided to discontinue the modern day technology of spot on accuracy with the lesser version. Obviously they feel they can make more money with the cheaper antenna. Well I came from Lowrance to HB for Technology basically SI  obviously I am not getting whats available.  GARY    P.S. PLEASE NO SCALPERS REPLY.

I have two of the regular 50's and one of the HA's . I don't want to get rid of it but I will tell you this ,the difference in accuracy is hardly noticeable. Perhaps less than 5 feet....I paid dearly for mine, had I known the minuscule difference I would not have made the purchase.

Thanks for your input i am just a little ticked right now. You spend big bucks you want the best out there. If you are going to be a leader then lead if you are going to be a follower then follow.
Maybe HB will start putting the AS-GRHA back on the High end units when Lowrance comes out
with there new less than 1 meter accurancy reciever.  Gary

Stillbear, GRHA never came with any of the units. It was always an option. I got one but I doubt the few feet of accuracy will ever impact what most people use them for. If you take 2 steps either way in your boat the error would be that much. Gr50 is plenty good. Bob
