Thanks Rickie. I've being following your boat rehab on crappie.com.

That transducer arrangement looks like it could have been on the minesweeper that my dad was on in WW2.

Since one week I have got my Helix10 SI G3N and an Mega 360.
My first experience is that stones, trees, etc. is showing up very well.
Fish is hard to be seen.
I will try to improve my Mega 360 settings to get fish shown up on my Helix10.

Reports are that darker (less Sensitivity) seems to allow the lighter fish echoes to contrast better against the bottom detail  ...

I did some more testing this weekend.

I lowered the sensitivity (darker).
Bait balls can be seen in water column (blue arrow), but not above the bottom.
Maybe there is one larger fish at the pink arrow?

The question is: are there no more bait fish balls in the whole area?
And is there really only one big fish?

The other screenshots are worse - only structure can be seen.

Btw, I switched off "Dynamic Contrast"

Is there anything I can improve?

I may be wrong, but on your upper picture, on the lower right corner there are a series of bright specs (maybe 5 or 6),  I believe to be fish.

I have an older 360 on my boat and it takes some practice. Think about the area you are covering, a foot long fish is only a few pixel on the screen.

In your lower picture, just below the sweep line on the left side there are a few more fish specs.

here is something to think about when looking for fish. Your 20 m display is  780 inches wide.  Your screen at its best is about 1080 pixels wide. Each pixel is about 1 1/4 inches, a 12" fish is a very small pattern.

If you see it, it is worth fishing for.

Thanks for the answer - it is a good point of view what you said.

I will do some more testing next weekend.
