Hi bmft01 and welcome to the forum!

Looks like you have a domestic unit (998c instead of 998 cX). There was a discussion some time ago that domestic units cannot be set to other then US time zones. I can't remember what came out from that discussion, but if you press the menu button twice and go to the "settings" tab, you should find the time zone settings if you scroll further down there.

Just give it a try and let us know what comes out.

Regards from Germany / Harry

Hi Harry,
I bought a domestic unit from the States (not delivered yet) in the knowledge that the clock is set to a domestic US Time Zone, so I'm not complaining.  I have also read some animated posts regarding this issue.  However, as GMT does not relate to a particular International Time Zone (other than Greenwich UK) I thought it should be on the list.  Then, it would be a  simple matter of using GMT and doing the mental arithmetic depending on the location of use.  This would be a small concession by HB and great for HB sales to international clients.  Further, HB is not competitive with other units , e.g. Lowrance, on the Australian market!?  A rethink by HB marketing is necessary and they need to watch the rapid decline of their market share in Australia!?

Ten four on that Frank!

It's the same issue with changing the readouts in meter, km/h and Celsius and Humminbird would do themself and their customers a huge favour if they would stop that behaviour.

I hope they will rethink their marketing strategy in the near future.

Tight lines and good wrecks!

That's an awesome helicopter Harry!  You must be able to access some unique and pristine fishing spots!?

I'm not that good in fishin Frank.

If I'd go fishing I wouldn't take a helicopter but a radio and a laser torch  ;):
"Spooky, this is ground force! I illuminate!"  ;D

But your idea has some potential:
Helo fishing instead of helo skiing. Has anybody thought about that yet?

Thats a great shot of the Coast Guard making good use of their time on the water - fishing perhaps!?  Maybe Harry can do the same and start fishing with that chopper of his - just kidding!?

I sure do have a boat Frank, but it's in winter storage since beginning of November (we have a regulation here that all non commercial boats have to be out of the water at the first of November each year). Here's a picture of her:

The right spelling would be: "Wie gehts? Hast Du ein Boot?" But that doesn't really matter, since I understand what you meant  ;).

The helicopter does not have a mounted transducer.  They are using a towfish... ;D
