Title: networking
Post by: buck16on on March 20, 2019, 09:54:47 AM
I currently have a 959 ci DI combo, terrova 80, and 360 (on a home made deployment pole) and ethernet switch on my bow. The Terrova,959, and 360 are all plugged into the ethernet switch. The 959 DI transducer is attached to the terrova and is plugged into the 959. The 360 GPS puck is plugged into the 959. I'm adding a Helix 9 Mega + chirp SI GN3 sonar/chartplotter on the bow. My boat is a freedom 180 tiller and the 797 on the transom is not networkable. MY goal is to run 360 on the 959( because mega + does not work on 360) while I run Mega+ SI DI and chirp mega 2d on the Helix 9. I've already downloaded the way points from the 959 to an sd card and uploaded them to the helix 9. I plan to attach the Helix 9 SI transducer to the bottom of the 360 deployment pole below the 360 transducer and plug this transducer into the Helix 9. I plan to attach a network cable to the Helix 9 to the ethernet switch. I want to also be able to run follow the contour on either unit. Should I leave the 360 GPS puck plugged into the 959 or should I plug it into the Helix 9 or should it be plugged into the ethernet switch? Any other suggestions to help me would be appreciated?  Thank you, Kevin

The GPS antenna must be plugged into either head unit  ... It can then be shared to any head unit on the network  ...

CHIRP must be shut off the HELIX in order to share any Sonar to the 959  ...

MEGA (1200) cannot be shared to 959  ...

360 operates at 455kHz so do not use any 455kHz (2D, DI or SI) on the HELIX or the 959 at the same time or you will see crosstalk interference  ...

I'm not sure what you mean by "MEGA+ does not work on 360"  ...

Because 360 is an ethernet accessory it can be viewed on any unit in the Network (but only at 455kHz)  ...
