Autochart for international users
« on: January 24, 2015, 03:30:40 PM »
Hello all
I've been thinking of upgrading my HB 898 to onix and would like to start using auto chart or something similar but I am still not clear on what the limitations are with auto chart outside of the USA can someone please enlighten me.

Thanks Scott

ok so no one seems to know about this here's another question does auto chart live on the onix
Work with out the lake chart map ?
Can you export data created in auto chart live to a card for use in the PC program ? from what I've seen in the promo videos the data for auto chart live is stored with in the unit .

Scott,
What limitations are you asking about?  There are international versions of the AutoChart software.  The basic difference between these and the one sold in the U.S.A. would be the content of the AutoChart zLine card.  It would have lake outlines for bodies of water for that area of the world.  Not that you actually need an outline for your favored lakes as you can make your own.

The AutoChart Live data is usable only on the unit it was made on.  I don’t know that it can be exported in any way.

Hi Greg
Thanks for the reply, yes that was what I was getting at the zero line charts  for other parts of the world.
As for the auto chart live and correct me if I'm wrong it will simply map whatever it sees you do not need the lake master charts with it ?
Also I think this auto chart live is such unique feature being able to map in real time and see your results as they are being made Surely being able to have unlimited data storage  for this system is a big plus.

Scott,
Yes, AutoChart Live on the ONIX units will map what the boat passes over and no map or memory card is needed for this.  However, there is a limit to the amount that it can record, it is not limitless.  If you are thinking about mapping many bodies of water you should look into the AutoChart / AutoChart Pro software for your area and start making sonar recordings (which you can do with your 898 unit and a memory card now for use later).
