as sidb y and us2?
« on: December 04, 2013, 06:44:48 PM »
I just bought the new ipilot link, and I'm in the process of moving my 898c si to the front of my boat. I would like to leave my SI ducer on the back, and my question is will the us2 with proper connector work with the built in sonar plugged into my as sidb y cable? Thanks in advance guys

Yes it will but the Si sonar will be from the transom mounted transducer which is the length of your boat away from the trolling motor transducer.

Not sure where your GPS Receiver is located but you possibly can be introducing a lot of error in the position of a waypoint when you mark one.

Thanks Greg. I definitely like not having to worry about pinching a transducer wire again. I will be using my DI unit on my dash now. GPS antenna will stay mounted next to steering column near the middle length of boat where it's always been.

I would move the DI unit to the front and ethernet the 898.

Thats how i had them set up, but constantly having to worry about pinching the DI ducer cable got old. And using all the ipilot link features i wanted the unit up front by me, so im not having to run back and forth to change things. Plus now ill be able to keep an eye on my side scan at all times too.
