Title: The last "stable" version of software - for 898c SI units
Post by: MarioFisherman on April 12, 2013, 01:07:09 PM
I posted a general post on the same topic for any unit. This post is for only for those who have a HB 898c SI units. At least would collect info for this particular model.

Rickie encourage me to post this topic:

It is always a good idea to have the last "stable" version of software on a separate SD card in case things go awry with unit operation...(the last "stable" version for your particular unit might be a good topic for you to ask in the forum)...

Which one do you have on your unit? Please share with us: purchase date, particular unit and the last "stable" version of the firmware for your unit. THANK YOU SO MUCH and God bless you

I think that most would say that it was version 6.490

So, my final question will be:

why do we have to know which "stable" version is the factory version?

Is it just to be aware of, or do we ever going to use/install it on our unit?

Besides the latest version v.6.610 saved on SD card, do I keep this v.6.490 on the other SD Cards or v.6.310 which seem most of the people are using as a latest one? Which one should be a back up one?

Thank you and God bless you

Most want to know what the last stable version of software for their units is in case they start having a problem with the operation of their unit so they have a known good ‘place’ to go back to.  Whether you want to do this is up to you, though if you are running one of the new GPS Receivers (GRP or GPS-HS), the 360 Imaging or the iPilot Link you may not be able to run an older version of software.

I would keep the 6.490 software on an SD memory card as a backup.

Greg,

Thank you so much for your expertise and answer re: the last "stable" version of the software for HB 898c SI.

I need your clarification to your statement:

I'll post it as a separate topic on 898c forum. Thanks again and God bless you
