987c si data recording
« on: July 05, 2010, 12:31:12 PM »
I just down loaded humviewer, and it looks pretty cool. My problem is I have never seen an option to record sonar data on my unit. What am I overlooking? Any help or advice is welcome. Thanks

Make sure you are in advanced mode.  This is a selection in the menu setup menu tab.  It is called User Mode. Then you want to enable snapshot.  This is done from the menu the last on the right.
Snapshot and recording is a key selection on the snapshot menue.  You might want to refer to the user manual for detail usage.
Then you will want to have an SD card in the unit.
many will work .... it just depends on the amount of data you want to record.
See the search tab in the forum for SD card and search.

Make sure you have the latest software in your unit first.  Than you need to look for the Sonar Recording View in your unit.  Make sure that it is set as "Visible" by looking under the Views menu tab.

For directions: try downloading the operations manual for a newer unit like the 997, 998 or 898 and look for the instructions on sonar recording )page 44 in the 997 operations manual).

After reviewing the manual for the 987, it appears that recording and snapshot is not a option for that model.

Wayne,

The 987/981 were the first Side Imaging units produced and did not originally have recording or snapshot capability.  It was added in a software update.
