Schools of striper on SI
« on: January 14, 2014, 12:36:43 PM »
Anyone use their bird primarily for striper fishing? Just wondering if anyone has any nice screen shots of striper. I have seen lots of nice lowrance striper shots, but not many on hbird.

attached is a side image screen shot of a large school of stripe that eventually turned into top water action.

Cool thanks for the pics. Looks really cool. I have a few ?'s for ya.

1.) I see that in your profile you have a 798. Looks like this unit was a 998. Your boat or a friends? I assume you are using 455khz?

2.)River, lake, bay?

3.)What did those girls weigh? They are perfect eatin size!!

Good job and thanks for the confirmation. Always nice to see the graph and then have the person who took the shots prove it with some nice catches.

These were on the 998 but I also have a 798 on the bow. This was a lake. The 4 fish weighed over 50lbs.

Nice, thanks! Good sized fish. Looks like there were some monsters on that 2d graph. If you have any others please do share. Hopefully we will see some from others here shortly.

You can see them schooled up on the left middle of the screen on this one.

Here's a really nice shot in 2d and SI of some active stripers.

I am pretty sure this is a huge school of gizzard shad. You can see the heavy returns on 2d verifying that they are dense fish, maybe in the 10-15" range. Sure wish I had tightened the beam width up before I took the shot. you can also notice the large return on the right beam (and 2d) coming in and pushing the bait up.
