Title: Zero line map have shore line in middle of my lake
Post by: Beaulieu80 on August 06, 2014, 10:33:10 AM
See my attach image for details. Why in the world I have a shore line in the middle of the lake when depth is over 10feet? Because of that I can't generate accurate data and depth lines shows 0 feet.? thanks

What option did you choose to use for shoreline? There are 2, custom or lakemaster.

default which is lakemaster in my case.

i remove the checkbox and now my custom map was fixed.

this forum should have an option to have "Resolution RESOLVE" to allow people see more clearly solutions.

thanks

I've seen the same thing in some of the areas I've mapped.  From what I gathered, it typically occurs at the edge of distinct boundaries, or map edges.  It just depends how the data was merged between the different data sets that they used to import shoreline data from.
In your case, it is clearly evident that there is some sort of county border or something, where the shoreline get goofed up because of the way the data merged.  See the attached screenshot from GoogleEarth.

No way to fix it, unless you use your own shoreline data instead of the default lakemaster.  You'll have to draw the actual shorelines in google earth, and import them into autocharts, and tell the program to use your shoreline instead of lakemasters.  Instructions in the user manual. I can provide more help later.

Same thing has happened to me:

Lucky for me, I already had a "zero line" for this body of water made for another purpose.  My trouble is getting Autocharts to use that custom zero line rather than those provided by Autocharts.  The depth info has already been mapped using the bad
zero lines, with results like Beaulieu submitted above.  I have to say the manual is less than clear on how to get AC to recognize the custom zero lines over those on the AC card.  It's easy enough to import a zero line from kml files, however.
