I've got a new 1875 Lund Crossover that is about to be rigged with a new 999 and 1199. My plan is to have the 1199 mounted at the bow so I can see it easier since eyes are further from the locator at that position, and the 999 at the console on the top RH side of the dash on a Ram mount, thinking that the 1999 would be much more difficult to see past if it were located there since this is at eye level.
If I decide at some point that I want to try switching these two units around just to see how I like it, is it relatively easy from a wiring standpoint? Am I correct in thinking that the number and type of wires are the same, but just the "quick" connectors on the backs that gather the wires is different? If this is the case, I could just spend 10 or 15 minutes switching these connectors around, is that correct? (Both locators lead to the five port switch via ethernet.)
