Title: 998si data card issues
Post by: cdroke72 on April 14, 2014, 12:22:48 PM
I purchased a class 10 sd card for my 998. Went out and did some marking of brush piles with screen capture turned on. I took the card out of the unit to label it. Was out on the lake this weekend, turned the unit on and it starts normal but only for a second then the screen goes black and say (pc connect). Any ideas what is causing this? Take out the sd card and the unit works normal.

We have seen where some SD cards do ‘funny’ things to Humminbird units.  You can try doing a (full) format of the memory card but this will delete all of your screen snapshots, so copy them to your computer first.

Just curious: what brand SDHC card is it?

Greg it is a class 10, 16GB, PNY is the brand of card. I will gladly buy a different card if you have a suggestion on a brand that works best.

We have good success with the SanDisk brand of memory cards.
