1197 101 terrova interference when using trolling motor
« on: August 17, 2013, 02:36:01 PM »
I have a 1197 unit on the bow attached to a 101 terrova with ipilot.  After two years of working fine, I now have erratic depth and temperature readings whenever I step on the throttle to turn the prop on the trolling motor.  When I release the throttle, the depth readings go back to normal however the temp reading never recovers unless I turn the unit off and back on again.  Issue still exists if the other 1197SI I have on the console is turned off.

Any advice on how to most easily solve this issue?  Do I replace my 101?

Has anything changed with your software version? What v are you running?
Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.

Nothing has changed on the software version.  I have not updated since new as I am a bit worried about getting into the update process and it not working and being unable to back my way out (I am on a Mac...).

RF can come from many different sources...

It's a process of elimination to track it down...
