Title: Trolling motor interference
Post by: Scuba20 on June 25, 2012, 08:18:14 PM
I have worked out my main motor interference issue I was having but now I get interference everytime I give my trolling motor power. The trollingotor and 998 are hooked u to the same battery and I can't afford to add another battery to my boat. I have heard about grounding my battery toy boat? Or using a rf interference filter? Anybody have any suggestions?

Also for some reason after a few hours of my 998 being on and having gps signal it looses signal, I unhook the gps wire plug it back in and it will not pick up gps signal?
Any suggestions for this as well would be greatly appreciated.

Scuba20, We have seen some instances of GPS problems related to low power to the units.  Make sure that this is not the issue with your 998c Si unit by connecting it to another battery.

For the trolling motor interference I suggest that you call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks.

Scuba20.  Batteries are not that expensive and with the HB units it is almost necessary to have them on their own power supply. And fully charged..
