Humminbird_Greg:
Kosmo,
Are you testing this while on the water or while the boat is on the trailer?
If it does it while on the water, than you need to contact the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and try what they tell you.
sonar2000:
Sometimes the problem of determining interferrence can be a long trial process. It depends on whether the interferrence is RF or induced electrical.
There are filters that can help some of the interferrence.
From what I have seen the power and cables used in the sonar should be isolated circuits and filtered. Both for RF and electrical. Trolling motors can interfere two ways depending on the connections.
Trolling motor noise from the windings and induced spikes on DC.
Main power cableing should be isolated for the sonar, and not wrapped around other cables.
Using a filter is always a good idea.
Guage of wire can be a contributer.
Ever since we have gone to low current electronics noise has been a problem. Not only in sonar but all electronic devices. Early computers had a large problem in static electricity. That still is prevelant today and does cause problems if not filtered or protected.
