Title: bottom river line
Post by: tournevase on January 13, 2022, 05:39:39 AM
hello

i'll try to explain with my laborious english  :-[

when the hummin operate, it records gps data, 2D, SI and down imaging
after the SI, one of my interests is the bottom river line of each record

i want to get it only like a line : depth function of the boat way  (x y diagram) even if the way is not straigth
may be like a picture and, climax, like a .xls file

one possibility is to save in humviewer with a .csv file giving lat / long / depth
a line can be drawn with these data but it depends of the gps acquisition quality

more interesting for me : the bottom lines are intrinsically on 2D, SI and down imaging displays among many others pixels (reverberation on 2D for example) but how to extract it ?
of course it is possible to redraw manualy on the images but  :(

does somebody know how to do this ?

note : i have autochart pro where the line can be displayed but how extract it  ?

no oschi, i want a 2d xy diagram where y is the depth and x the distance between the starting point and any point of the way of the boat
like BB' here (http://https://www.researchgate.net/publication/317351183/figure/download/fig5/AS:961890717036546@1606344026560/a-Hill-shaded-bathymetry-profile-showing-hummocky-sediment-waves-of-type-W4-b-PARASOUND.gif)

Ok. Nothing easier than that.

Save your track. It contains lat, lon and depth. You have to calculate the distance between two following trackpoints out of lat, lon data. That's all.

i agree with you oschi

but the problem is that some gps  recordings are bad and can't be used  :'(

in this case, supposing that the way was straight and the speed constant i could use the distance between the start point and the last valids, given by the gps and divide that distance by the (number of depth recordings - 1) to draw the line   :)

HumViewer has an error and struggles with the DI beam B004 file.
Simply rename the extension.
If you want to display B004 rename it to B001. That's the 2D beam.
