Recording playback On onix
« on: April 19, 2015, 02:47:42 PM »
WHen I play a sonar recording on the Onix and go into the playback menu there is a timer display that  has Duration and time elapsed. but they are not active or don't display the time elapsed or duration. Anyone have a time displayed there. I have the latest software version. Or is it a glitch in 2.0

I'm having issues with my Onix playing recordings since the 2.0 software update. All my options highlighted in yellow (Sonar, DI and SI) turn to black when I press the Start playing recording option. Also if you are able to view a recording then see something you want to create a waypoint on then the gps cords are not available? I've had nothing but problems with my Onix since the 2.0 update! My unit has been back to Humminbird four times and looks like it will be making another trip back to them again! I love my Humminbird but NOT since the 2,0 update!

I do think there are issues with the Onix and recording playback. I tried marking a waypoint during playback. It appears to mark the spot but you can not see it on chart view And the waypoint is set to visible.

Per Humminbird there will a software update in the next couple of weeks to deal with this issue and a lot of other problems with the Onix units.

Well  I updated to 2.3 on my Onix 8. The update went fine. The unit now shows 2.3 But when I mark a waypoint in the DI recording playback mode It still does not show up in the chart view. :(

well i hooked up my onix in the house and messed with recording playback and marking waypoints. the issue is how the onix marks the waypoint.when you mark a waypoint it puts it on the opposite side of the earth. it lists the waypoint in nav data and says its 10,000 miles away when sorted by distance in nav data. And i'm in simulator mode sitting on the lake where the recording was made. this is with 2.3 so its not fixed yet.

Let me know what you find. So far Humminbird has not been much help. They think my unit is bad. I think its a software glitch. My unit marks waypoints accurately and fine. This just occurs when marking a point from a recording

I will try to update soon ...

Are you marking a waypoint on a Normal operation recording or the Simulator recording ... ??

And was this recording created on 2.000 or 2.300 ... ??

(I don't know if it makes a difference) ...
