Will baitpump be a problem?
« on: April 13, 2013, 06:21:44 PM »
Hello,
I am about to install my 798 on my boat.
I have upgraded the boxed transducer for a XHS-9-HDSI-180-T.
I also purchased a second XHS-9-HDSI-180-T so I can cleanly see sonar from both sides of my outboard engine.

I just ordered a transom mount baitwell pump.

Please correct me if I am wrong, I believe the pump must be mounted so it is not inline with the propeller.
Soooo,,, my question is,, if the pump is mounted  between one of the transducers and the centerline of the boat will the pump cause problems for the transducer???

No takers?

I was just wondering if turbulance from the pickup would disterb the transducer??

Not sure of your set-up but I doubt there will be a problem. The intake to the pump is on the transom. There should be no turbulence to cause any problem. Bob

If you are using two HDSi transducers and the pump is mounted between them than it will not cause any turbulent water that will affect your Si sonar.  You will have to use the AS-Si-LR-Y cable with these two transducers.  That cable connects only from the left Si sonar on your port side HDSi transducer and the right Si sonar, 2D sonar and Water Temperature from the Starboard side HDSi transducer.  There will be no sonar in between these two HDSi transducers, so the pump will not cause problems there.
