HumViewer and Norton..
« on: May 02, 2015, 08:48:41 AM »
I went to the site to get a new copy of HumViewer and my Norton is complaining.  Is anyone else having problems specific to Norton AV having issues with the site/software?

I have read of instances where antivirus software doesn't like Humviewer ...

The workaround would be to temporarily turn off Norton or create an exception in Norton (which I'm not sure how to do in Norton) ...

If you right click on the Norton icon at the lower right of your desktop ...is there an option to temporarily disable ...??

I stopped using Norton last year because it interfered with too many programs and could not handle a malwares that cause me problems.

Being retired I spend a lot of time searching the internet, for products and answers to issues, I expect to get some nuisance issues.  I finally found a software that is not so intrusive.  It is called Malwarebytes, I used their free version for a year while continuing to use Norton.   I have subscribed to Norton for the past 10 years, but after it could not handle some issues I switched to Malwarebytes and have not looked back.

Whatever antivirus software that works for you is good as long as it does not cause issues.

I use the free version of AVG and HumminbirdPC and Humviewer works fine.  Tried Bitdefender once but it would not let HBPC run.
