can Helix 12 SI gn2 software

ok I had to send my helix 12 into humminbird because the motherboard needed repair. So naturally they insisted that the newest update 2.280 be installed. Well they fixed the motherboard but the side imaging quality and the 2D quality are nothing like before the updates.I read somewhere if you put the user mode in normal and adjust water the new water column to clear mode and then switch back to advanced mode and adjust the contrast /sensitivity etc it will give a better image. I have not tried that because i don't know if will do any good. So is there a way that Humminbird can send me the original software version and can you back date the software from 2.280?

You can call HB and ask if they will send a previous version  ... 1-800-633-1468

I’ve heard reports both yes and no from HB  ...
