    I just purchased a 798ci hd si from Cabelas, it has version 5.41. If I load 5.84 will that contain (5,500 & 5.590) or do I need to load each one? How old would this unit be with only the 5.41 loaded? Have a great NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You only need to apply update to the latest version.  Also, you should go to Humminbird Select and sign up, it will automatically extend your warranty for an additional year.

George gave you good advice neparon.

If you want to know how old your unit is just look at the serial number as it is date coded.  The first two numbers are the year, the next two are the month and the next two are the day of the month.  As an example: if your serial number was 12010305-0159 then it would have been produced on January 3rd of 2012 (yesterday!).  The other numbers represent the test station (05) and the sequential number of the unit that was tested at that station on that day (159th unit tested).

I went to the Humminbird Select and it only applies to 1100, 900 and 800 series units, not the 700 series.

798ci doesn't have 5.84 in downloads.

Under My Account @ humminbird.com they advised me to download version 5.84 and I completed the download. My unit is a 798ci HD SI.

It is available from HB as posted.
You should have registered your unit and have an account there.
