Title: Autochart Pro / Onix8 Zeroline sd card management
Post by: MetalHd on April 29, 2016, 12:21:02 PM
I have an Onix 8ci si combo, a blank 32 gb card, and the zeroline card.  I see older units preserving their zeroline card space by mapping sonar to the blank card, then only transferring the converted map to the zeroline card.  With the Onix, the AutoChart Live, recording data can only be saved to a zeroline card.  Does this make space management an issue?  Should I map with only sonar data saved to the blank card, and not save AutoChart live data?  Or does the software intelligently take this into consideration, and either purging the data after map completion or only maintaining a single copy of the data?

Also, can I copy the file structure to a spare card for the same Onix unit?

Maine maps are not that popular, so I have a need to create alot of private maps, and want to start with the proper storage management strategies.

Thanks..

Ok, so after talking to someone, recording Autochart Live data to the Zeroline card will effectively give you two copies of the map, therefore wasting space.  Which data is delete-able to recover space on the zeroline card?

I have been mapping a couple of lakes for the past few years using Dr. Depth, then using that info in AutoChart Pro PC.  I use that zero line card with my mapping in my Onix and then putting Auto Chart Live data over the top of my other mapping. It works great doing it this way.  You can fade the Auto Chart Live data in or out on the Onix. I would assume that you can do the same on the Helix.
