What is this left over part??
« on: April 21, 2010, 07:57:46 AM »
Just installed my 798ci si and there is a small rubber part left over. The number stamped on it is 407079 and I think that I read that it is only used if you lock down the transducer. Could someone confirm what it is and where / if I need to install it?  I do not plan on locking down my transducer.
Thanks,
Ted

It sounds like the water spray plug that is suppose to go in the gap between transducer and mount.
If it bends my rod, I'm a happy fisherman.

Yes, that rubber part is the rooster-tail plug for the XNT transducers.  Install it and the water spray should go away.

Thanks for the reply and info. Hopefully that will solve my rooster tail problem.
