It appears that your target is casting a shadow and the white images in the shadow area are things sticking up behind and above the target..   Chuck

I concur with Chuck on the possibility ...

Just for clarification if we are looking at the same "white spots" ... Can you edit the image in a drawing program and circle the "white spots ...??

I think the spots may be over the whole screen, but are difficult to see except in the darker areas.

It is probably some kind of electrical interference.  Have you tried systematically turning everything off?  Bilge pumps, trolling motor, radios, etc.    Is the main motor running when you see the spots?......are the spots there all the time?

Thank you for the feed back. I will try out your suggestions. Are there electrical filters available?

After looking at your picture again I see the single white dots you are talking about.  This seems to be some sort of interference or a problem with the sonar. Do you see the spots when running sonar? do you see the spots only on recording sand playback..?

I see the dots on both. Today I started a series of test to identify and eliminate interference. Are there any filters available?

The first step is to determine the source.....Interference can be picked up by the transducer, it can be on the power source, it can be picked up by the transducer.
The way to eliminate it will be different depending on the source.

You could try just drifiting and watching the SI and systematically turn off everything else....including the main motor.

Humminbird customer service is the best resource for eliminating interference.  If you know the source before you call them you will be ahead of the game.

I have now solved my white spot problem. by changing the power input. I also found that when my engine revs over 1500 I experienced interference on the starboard channel. So by staying below 1500 revs I get perfect images. Thank for all the help
