Transom mounting on a 2005 Stratus
« on: May 30, 2012, 09:42:13 AM »
Hey everyone, needing some help pin-pointing the right spot. I recently bought a 2005 285 pro xl stratos. Upgrading the electronics and not exactly sure where on the transom to mount the transducer. If anyone has any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated!

I just installed a transducer on my Stratos 201XL Evolution, click on the attachment, the transducer does not work for high speed at about 30 plus it disappears, I use a thru hull transducer on a HB 728 for high speed runs.

I use the 1198 mostly for map program and at low speed for the SI and down imaging.  It works very well at 5 mph and no electrical interference.

Doug Vahrenberg has a video of installing a transducer on a jack plate, I chose to go to the transom.
