GPS receiver
« on: November 24, 2017, 05:34:21 PM »
I upgraded from a 797c2 to Helix 10.  The marine dealer said the Helix 10 GPS receiver is built in and I could have him remove the white puck like receiver from the 797c2.  is this correct??

If I had a separate GPS puck I'd leave it connected.  They are supposedly more accurate than the built-in versions.

I like my GPS antenna right on top of my transducer location. That way your marks are not off. If you have your transducer on the transom, unit on the console you will have to take that into consideration when returning to that way point. Both my transom and bow transducers have the GPS antennas right over the transducers.
