Title: Ethernet
Post by: lcookie on October 20, 2012, 08:48:16 AM
I have a SI and  DI unit I have connected via Ethernet.  I know that I cannot share DI and SI sonar over the Ethernet, but it was my understanding that the 2D could be shared.  Whenever I try to do this the unit will go to map as if no sonar is hooked up at all.  Is there something I am missing with this, or can I not share 2D over the Ethernet between a SI and a DI unit?  If not maybe they can fix this in a SW update.  FYI I can share GPS, waypoints, and temp with no problem.

Thanks,

Found it.  Hope this changes later.

Special Note
At the present time the only DI unit that has ethernet capability is the 788ci HD
DI. In the Fall we will be introducing the 858c DI, 958c DI and 1158c DI. These
DI units will only transfer sonar to each other. When connected to other
models via Ethernet these units will only transfer or receive GPS information
and waypoints with other non-DI units. (SI units aren’t considered DI units).
