Title: 1159 shuting down
Post by: larry e frazier on August 05, 2014, 07:48:58 AM
My brand new 1159(2months old) is shuting down when you push the power button to turn on . You get the humminbird logo then it goes to the next screen and it immediately says unit is shuting down, this keeps cycleing until you disconnect power. Changed the unit and tried on my 1199 mount with the same result. Any clues and has anyone else had this experience? Bought this 1159 and 1199 two weeks apart and both have took a dump within 2 months . Been using Humminbird products since 1975 on all my boats and have had 40 or fifty units never had one to ever break until now.

Sounds like it is something inside the unit.  Did you call the Humminbird Customer Resource Center folks about this yet larry?

Yeah, we got great folks in the Service Center.  The official turn-around time is 3 to 5 days at the factory here but they get them back out much faster than that most of the time.  I'll see that Beverly gets a copy of your message.
