Portable set-up for 700/800/900 series
« on: October 30, 2010, 11:37:53 AM »
If someone uses its 700/800/900 series units in a portable way (on different boats), i would be grateful if you could post a picture of such a set-up or a description how you do that (using a soft/hard case of some kind or something else?)

Thank you in advance!

Humminbird sells a soft case that can be used with the 700 series units but we have nothing for the larger 800and 900 series units.  I’ve seen many post what they have used to make their own portable units and the list is endless.  The 5 gallon bucket ones are the best to me as battery, unit and seat are all in one!

Thank you Greg!
Is there a compartment for a battery in the soft case for 700 series?
There are no pictures of that except the front-view one, so it is difficult to evaluate whether it is worth to experiment for 70$:)

There is.  Look at the manual for assembling the soft case (attached to this message).  It has drawings but does show where the battery and unit get installed.  I can’t find any real pictures showing the unit and battery in one of these.

Thank you, Greg!
It looks like the case includes a flat firm base and a firm handle, so that it can be set steadily somewhere in the boat...a firm base with the handle definitely makes its worth buying!
