Title: Humminbird Greg???
Post by: Gator on January 13, 2013, 10:17:07 AM
Ok, so I have the 998ci hd si unit on my console. I'm going to sell the 787c2. what unit would be the best for me to buy for the bow and be able to connect the two unit together by ethernet? I want to use the US2 transducer in my terrova. I don't care much about being able to look at SI or DI on the bow. I do want to be able to share waypoints. and I do want to keep the GPS antenas seperate between the two units. I would like to have the bow unit with external gps but this is not a deal breaker because the head would be pretty close to the transducer. what unit (s) would be good for this? CHO would be prefered. Thaks!!!

Gator,
You would have to contact the Humminbird Customer Resource folks to find out what we package in the CHO version.  I don’t keep up with that nor do I know how to look it up.

As for a replacement 2D sonar-GPS and Ethernet capable unit.  You did not state what size display so I will start with the same size unit as what came out and go bigger after that:
788ci HD Combo
858c HD
958c HD
1158c

For the 788ci HD unit you will need the AS-EC-QDE plus the appropriate length AS-ECXXE Ethernet Connection cable to connect it to your 998c Si unit.
For the 8/9/1158c units you will just need the appropriate length AS-ECXXE Ethernet Connection cable.
