Topic: 1197C locked - issue

Hi all,
I have a problem with my 1197C. It was working fine for some years but last saturday when I switched on it started to work properly but after 5 seconds the sonar is absolutely locked. The only thing I can do is to switch off the power cable, all buttons are unavailable.

It occurs always since that moment. If I start in simulator everithing is ok, in system status mode,all accesories are passed. I have disconected all connectons and I have the same problem. I have reseted to defaults and it is the same, I have load again the sonnar software and it is locked after 5 seconds.

Please, help!!!

I am a Spanish angler and I hope not to send it to repair ...

If this is happening with all of the accessories (transducer, GPS, etc.) disconnected than it is one of two things: power related or something within the 1197 unit.  Rule out power related by cross-testing units with someone else that has an 800/900/1100 series unit or try it on a new battery.  Otherwise, you will need to look at sending it into your local service center.

I have connected to a batery but I get the same.
I have tried to upgrade the software to version 6.310 and finally it was working, but then I
have tried to upgrade to 6.600 and it didn't finish. Now the 1197C is locked in loading (first screen).

Any idea is welcome!!

You can try the boot strap method using the SD card.  Do a search on the web site as I know that there are instructions for doing this.
