Title: Home screen on 788 Cxi HD has large red circles with lines through it...
Post by: tomartomau on August 25, 2012, 06:57:29 AM
Hi guys,
I have just updated using Hummingbird PC and PC connection cable and I believe that the update went ok, however I now have large red circles with lines through them on the snapshot scrssn at startup. Additionally the size of the split screen seems different two, that is my navigation split with the depth sounder seems to have only 1 inch for the depth sounder side and the rest for the navigation screen. Can either of these issues be fixed.

Cherrs Tony

Tony,
What model does the unit state it is when you power it on?

The red circles with a diagonal line through them tells me that the screen snapshots that are on the memory card are either the wrong format or the wrong size for the unit to display.  Were these screen snapshots that you made with your 788cXi HD unit or could these be from another model unit?

For the split screen: try pressing the MENU button once and adjusting the Sonar Window menu.

Thanks for the reply Greg.
The screenshots were somehow deleted when I did the update to the device [788Cxi HD]. Thanks also for the tip about adjusting the window, it will make for easier navigation/sonar use.

Again thanks,
Tony

Tony,
The Screen Snapshots are stored on the memory card.  If you used the same memory card for the update that you were using for the Screen Snapshots; the picture files or the associated files, may have either gotten erased or corrupted somehow.  I recommend using separate memory cards for this in the future.
