Topic: 2nd transducer

Do I have to buy a second transducer to get a good high speed reading if the transom mount is mounted properly for a 798.  I have a 488vs Ranger. I fish the FInger Lakes often, and sometimes it's a pretty good run from top to bottom. Thanks again for the help
