999 and Riptide ilink
« on: October 12, 2014, 11:22:32 PM »
Good day all,
Been trying to do some research and have come up empty.  There is a lot of info for the fresh water trolling units but I have a Riptide and fish almost exclusively salt.  Will I be able to "follow contour" with the existing contour lines on the HB unit?  I have used Navionics and it appears to be a great product but I read that minn kota requires lake master to follow contour?  I did not see a West Coast Ocean chart for lake master.  Thanks from a newb.  Cheers.

Welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums battleborn.

If that is an iPilot Link on your Riptide trolling motor; then it will be able to follow the contours from a Humminbird-LakeMaster mapping card (or one of your own AutoChart maps).  LakeMaster maps do not cover saltwater.

Thank you for the reply.  I hope someday to be able to contribute something to the community.  I see so it will not follow the contours that are pre programmed on the HB unit?  So to follow contour I have to get the auto chart and develop my own map?

That’s right battleborn.  Right now the only option for you is to purchase and use the AutoChart software to make your own LakeMaster type maps.
