Title: Onix 10 Users Manual
Post by: nwifishnut on April 15, 2014, 09:51:59 AM

My Onix 10 will be delivered today.  To get a jumpstart on the learning process, I went to the support section of the Humminbird website to download the Users Manual and cannot find the Onix 10.  There were no links for any of the Onix products, just Ion.

I would have posted this to the Onix section of the website, if it had been available.

On a more serious note, many of your customers purchase Humminbird as opposed to the competition because of the superior level of customer service you have historically provided. No owner manual downloads and weak web/forum support for a new high end product is not what we have come to expect.  This is particularly painful after spending enough money on an Onix to almost buy a small boat and motor.  (Forgetting for a moment the Lake Master Chip & Terrova I Pilot Link that went with it)

I don’t know where you looked on the Humminbird web site, but the operations manual for the ONIX 10 can be downloaded from this page:
http://www.humminbird.com/Category/Support/Product-Manuals/ (http://www.humminbird.com/Category/Support/Product-Manuals/)
I just tried it and found that it works but takes a while due to the file size(54,638KB).
The ONIX and ION both use the same operations manual.

This web site is not owned or run by Humminbrd (Johnson Outdoors Marine Electronics, Inc.).  It was set up by Robert Gecy and is owned by him.  Some Humminbird Employees, like myself, do come on here to help our Customers by answering questions and providing technical assistance as we can.

Greg,
Thanks for the speedy response.  You have always been most helpful.  I apologize since mistakenly, I was under the impression that this was a company sponsored/directed site.   However I stand by my recommendation that an Onix forum is needed.  Also, the link to the users manual is identified as Ion not Onix.  How would an Onix purchaser know that the Ion and Onix have a common manual?  They are marketed as 2 different devices.

I have contacted Robert and asked that an ONIX-ION area be added.

I don’t know how many users would look at the path in a link.  The file download name is ONIX and ION Operations Guide.pdf and the front page of the downloaded pdf file shows the same.

On the site Humminbird PDF "French onyx installation" is not the right document.
 Is it possible to correct?

Oui (sorry, but that is about all of the French I remember from High School).
I sent a message about this but until it gets fixed if you still need the document you can send me a direct e-mail asking for it and I can send it back to you.  Never mind that last bit - I found your e-mail address in your profile and went ahead and sent it to you via TransferBigFiles.com

Thank you! This will allow me to start installing and be ready upon delivery (the official launch is not yet in France, just order) therefore not have access to manual. I  bought all in France by the official circuit. I took a ONIX 10' + SM3000  box with two side transducers and an AIRMAR CHIRP transducer.

You need to post some pics for us once you get that up and going...
