Title: 2008 Hot Maps Premium SD Card 1197/1198

What a great site, I can tell I Have alot to learn!!!!! Need advice, will be puchasing the first of 2 units listed above in the next few days....  Questions is will this SD card work in these units? It shows the River Channel in Dark Blue!!! keeps me out of trouble, Great Help for myself when Navigating Rivers etc, that I have not seen before, Or if I need to purchase a different version, please let me know, so I can Purchase the Correct cards, sorry to bother everyone. Yes the Navionics HotMaps Premium mapping card will work in both the 1197 and 1198 units.  You will only be able to view the map card in one unit at a time though and I would caution you against using data from a map card for high-speed navigation as the real world can change while the map data for that river/lake may not have been up to date or may be inaccurate which could put you and others in danger.

Why buy an 1197 and an 1198 unit?  Why not get two 1198 units?

I too would recommend going with an 1198 rather than an 1197.
The 1197 is getting too old now, and radar won't work with it,
and maybe the 360 won't work with it.
The 1198 is supposed to have a faster processor and a clearer screen
in sunlight.

+2 to ITG...

2 - 1198's is the way to go.....

HB has sent the 1197 to legacy land and we probably will not see much for its future enhancement opportunities..
