i have tried to install humubird pc 4.1.8 and it run after install, when i click on the shortcut in start/all programs/huminbird pc it does nothing. no errors, nothing
it installs fine with no errors
my pc, win 7 with service pack 2
things ive tried to get it working
uninstalled/ reinstall java version 6 update 29
uninstalled/reinstalled humminbirdpc 4.1.8
install as admin
after install run as admin
run in program files/johnson outdoors inc/humminbirdpc also as admin
try compatibility with win xp and other win distros
turning off firewall
turning off virus software
turning off microsoft essentials
turning off firewall virus software, and ms essentials
tried to install in different directory
tried to associate the hwr/ ht files with humminbird pc
virus scan install program
virus scan pc
unzip install program and install
i can usually figure this stuff out Ive hit a brick wall and cant figure it out. it works on my netbook
when i click on the program it does nothing, so with no errors im lost
humminbird pc version 2.5.8 works but its limted in what it can do (no google earth) and 4.1.8 is much better
where is the default location of HBPC in registry? i dont know what else to do?
i feel like an idiot please help!
FYI GPS babel, yellowfin, HBSI sonar, deep view all work

roadx, AS I Understand it.
Windows7 home ed, 64 bit wont run 32 bit programs. You will have to upgrade to Office Pro7 and Windows XP Virtual.

i have win 7 32 bit home premium with service pack two. any other idea's? it is really appreciated

Nope, old XP or upgrade. that's it.
I spent $3900.00 each for 4 HP dv7,s and NONE of the old programs worked and some did not after $800.00 upgrades.

the funny part is the old(est) version 2.?.? works the newer versions 3.?.? and 4.1.8 dont ??????

WOO HOOO finally got it going!!
i had to run it in compatibility mode win 95. i thought i tried that? i know i tried quite a few different combo's. well i hope this helps someone down the line.
i like computer puzzles but when you get to the point to where you thought you tried everything. that frustrating

to run humminbird in compatibility mode windows 95
to go the program icon or short cut. right click, then go to properties. select compatibility tab at the top. check the box, run this program in compatibilities mode for: then click on the checklist and select windows 95 go to the bottom and click apply.
so... simple but over looked trying 95. tried other OS versions but this is the only one that would work for me in win 7.
