Title: couple of questions on new installation
Post by: riven1950 on April 10, 2010, 11:43:59 AM
Just installed mt 798ci si and about ready to put it in the water to test. Two questions:

I have a separate instruction page for a transducer insert. Is this something that is used if you lock down the transducer or is it for all installs? Is it needed before testing? What purpose does it serve?

Can anyone direct me to some concise instructions on how to record screens while I am using the unit?

Guess that was more then one question...but all replies are appreciated.

Thanks ...I will pick one up. In the meantime will a 2 gig work but maybe not store as much?

Yes 2g will work fine.  you want to keep recording small possibly 15 minutes or less. that will take about 20,000 Kbytes of storage.  Which leaves room for more.  The reason for small (time) recording is data transfer from unit card to PC and the viewer loading time.  Chuck

Ted,
The separate sheet of instructions should be for the lock-down screw that most do not need to install.  It keeps the transducer from kicking-up and so the transducer is more likely to be damaged if you were to hit something when you install this extra screw.  Do to the speeds that some boats are capable of this screw will need to be installed.
