Mounting Transducer question
« on: December 17, 2011, 05:17:00 PM »
Would like to know if I would be able to mount a transom SI transducer for my 797 SI unit that I just got. Can I make this work so that I can see the SI in both directions without interference with my setup since I do not have a jackplate? Here are some pictures and am looking at the compact SI transom transducer unless another is recommended. Thank you and here are some pictures of what I have to work with.

Can take more pictures if that would help.

Ok great. I plan on using one of those transducer mounting boards which is like 3/4" thick. Think with that all would be good? Also would the compact si transducer be my best bet for the 797? Thanks for the reply.

I don't think the screen would be a problem since the transducer should be hanging below the bottom of the boat. Looks easy enough with that flat bottom boat.

Great, I just heard some had problems with the motor being in the way and only being able to shoot to one side, not having the other side available for the SI. Do not want that and was just making sure that will not happen with this transducer on my boat. Thank you.

Looks like a lot of clearance to me.

That Compact Side Imaging transducer only needs about five inches of clearance.  Even with the 0.75 inch mounting board it looks like you will have plenty of clearance.
