Recording with simulator possible?
« on: November 05, 2014, 06:58:46 AM »
Hi Guys,
Haven't done a recording yet,
Due to weather conditions and commitments, may not get out on the water until end of the month
In the mean time, I was wondering if I could to a test recording with the simulator, both side scan and normal sonar?

Yes you can but the information is already recorded in the unit.
What are you planning on doing with this recording?

Hi Greg,
Not really doing anything with the recording, haven't got my Windows on the iMac sorted yet,
The main reason was to become more familiar with operation before I go for the real test
most probably a waste of time?

Will I have you here, how shallow can I go?

Tks Rickie,
Thats good news,  when I get out on the water at the end of the month, I'm hoping to do some testing,
going to run some tests with a tennis ball, ping pong ball and maybe a water bottle to see if i get a fish symbol (not getting any on my last trip)
also, should make a good recording, all going well

How shallow can you go?
I've been in 1 foot of water and gotten the correct depth reading but that was when the water was clear (for our lake) with no wind, waves or rain stirring things up.
