Title: New (to me) 998c si
Post by: Arkman on June 06, 2019, 09:04:57 PM
Hey everyone! I've got a new to me 998c si I just picked up. I'm trying to get it placed on my boat right and having a hard time. I don't have much room in my transom. I was hoping you could help me out.

I've attached a few images of my transom. I took these before mounting my 700 series side imaging transducer but I can revive that one if need be. I put a circle in blue where the existing 700 si ducer is. The new ducer fur the 998c is bigger and I'm afraid it will stick down there.

I did mount it where I have the red circle in just not sure that is the best place.   I'm just afraid that if I mount it whe the hull cuts back it will hang down and get ripped off.

What do you guys think.?

Most fast boat guys mount the bigger more expensive SI xducer where your red circle is - to protect it from damage  ...

Then use a shoot thru 2d xducer (XP 9 20) epoxied in the hull for high speed depth readings  ...

This dual xducer Setup requires the 9 M SIDB Y cable  ...
