Ethernet problems
« on: July 13, 2012, 05:13:43 PM »
I have an 1198CSI and a 998CSI. They are etherneted together and used to talk to each other. Now the Ethernet will not work. The only options you can pick from from the Ethernet menu are the two GPS pucks.

Check to make sure that the cables are connected tightly.  Other than that I don’t know what to have you try as we just have not had that many Ethernet problems.

I may have figured it out. The dealership worked on it recently. there was a plug on the 1198 that was kind of cockeyed ( is that a word?) in the harness that pluges into the back of the 1198 after I got it back from them. I have not had a chance to check it yet. The wife wants to have s garage sale this weekend so the boat stays outside and the electronics inside. Hope to check it out this week sometime. thanks for the FB.

i also had ethernet problems with my NEW 898's working together. console worked all right but no info going to bow. Ranger didn't tighten the console connections when they installed, tightened them down and everything ok.
